Abstract This Resolution approves the Statute of the International Agency of Renewable Energies (IRENA). The Statute, consisting of 20 articles, regulates the above mentioned International Agency under the Ministry of Energy, which will be responsible for: promoting a better dissemination of all forms of sustainable energy use, taking into consideration the National and local priorities and also the benefits originated from a combined approach of renewable energy, energy efficiency measures, and the contribution of renewable energies to the preservation of environment through the limitation of natural resources use, such as deforestation in particular of tropical tree species, desertification and the loss of local biodiversity.
