According to this Resolution, the Authority aims to develop the national economy in the field of fisheries through establishing projects of expansion in this field within the framework of the general policy of the state. It will also oversee the implementation of fishing laws and decisions and specify water bodies in a future regulation. The Authority will conduct research studies to increase productivity with a lower cost, establish training programs and pilot projects and models, regulate the exploitation of fishing grounds, and handle licensing issues for fish processing.
