Abstract This Resolution aims at authorizing the felling of trees for the implementation of the Electricity Grid Extension Project in the South. In particular, it authorizes the Water and Electricity Company (EMAE), under the Land Law, approved by Law No. 3/91 of 31 July, to proceed with the felling of trees on private lands, within the scope of the project to extend the electricity network, for the electrification of the southern zone, approved by Resolution No. 56/2021 and with the Forestry and Biodiversity Directorate being responsible for the supervision and follow-up of the works. For these purposes, the area encompassed by the electrical network is declared as an area of public utility, with the owners having the right to fair compensation.
