Abstract This Ministerial Order approves the new Statute of the Ministry for Agriculture (MINAG). The Statute, consisting of 5 Chapters, divided in 22 articles, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to: lead, plan and guarantee the implementation of policies in the following domain: land, agriculture, livestock, forest, wildlife and irrigation. Its aims at: managing, protecting and preserving the necessary resources to perform agricultural activities, in particular, related to land, water, forest, domestic animals and wildlife; agro-industrialization and commercialization of inputs agricultural products; research on agriculture domain, rural extension and technical assistance to producers.
