Subject Water, Wild species & ecosystems Keyword Water conservation zone Protected area Management/conservation Authorization/permit Geographical area Asia, Mediterranean, Middle East, Near East and North Africa, Western Asia Abstract In conformity with Laws No. 667 of 29 December 1997 and Law of 8 July 1939 on the protection of panorama, landscapes and natural localities, this Resolution decrees the course of the al-Awali River along the zone of Albarook (tributaries included), passing by the Basry Valley to it's mouth as a natural area submitted to the protection of the Ministry of the Environment. The protected area extends from the source to the mouth long and for 500 metres from the centre of the course of the river in the direction of the two banks width. The Ministry of the Environment coordinating with the Urbanization Planning Department defines conditions and requirements for permits and license necessary for possible works in the area.
