Resolution No. 131/1 of 1998 classifying the course of al-Awali River as a natural site subject to the protection of the Ministry of Environment.

In conformity with Laws No. 667 of 29 December 1997 and Law of 8 July 1939 on the protection of panorama, landscapes and natural localities, this Resolution decrees the course of the al-Awali River along the zone of Albarook (tributaries included), passing by the Basry Valley to it's mouth as a natural area submitted to the protection of the Ministry of the Environment. The protected area extends from the source to the mouth long and for 500 metres from the centre of the course of the river in t
