Abstract

This Resolution establishes the reinforcement of protective measures for the country's beach sands and the promotion of investments in crusher mechanical production and other alternative solutions to the extraction of sand, as this activity strongly puts coastal ecosystems at risk, through the loss of marine habitats and the disappearance of animal and plant species. In addition, it accelerates saline intrusion and the degradation of groundwater, very negatively affecting farms and drinking water supply to people in coastal areas, and causing a very negative impact on the landscape, reducing the tourist potential of Islands.
