Abstract The aim of this Resolution is to regulate the establishment of poultry and birds slaughterhouses in order to protect the public health and environment. It is composed of 6 articles. Article 1 decrees the ban on slaughtering of poultry and birds outside the authorized slaughterhouses, which shall be defined by a resolution of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. Article 2 defines general and special requirements and conditions for automatic, semiautomatic and manual poultry and birds slaughterhouses according to Law No. 453 of 1954 and Environment Law No. 4 of 1994. Article 3 excludes from article 2 all slaughterhouses, which have already obtained the approval of the General Authority for Veterinary Services. All provisions provided for in Resolution No. 1835 of 2000, which are compatible with this Resolution and not mentioned in it shall be valid (art. 4).
