This Resolution enters into force on 10 April 2003.
Abstract

This Resolution is composed of 8 articles. Definitions of meat, fresh meat, frozen and deep frozen meat are given in article 1. Importation of frozen meat with 2 expiry dates shall be prohibited (art. 2). Importation of frozen meat shall be allowed on the condition that the label is clear (art. 3). Paragraph 4 of Article 2 of Resolution No. 105/1 is amended as follows: the date of arrival of deep frozen meat (18-20 degrees under zero) in Lebanon shall not exceed 180 days from the date of slaughtering; the date of arrival of frozen meat (0-3 degrees under zero) shall not exceed half of the expiry date written on the label; and, the issuance of the veterinary certificate shall not exceed 60 days from the date of arrival of the meat (art. 5). The meat must be certified by a veterinarian from the country of origin complying with the sanitary conditions adopted in Lebanon (art. 6).
