Abstract This Resolution approves the Statute of the Ministry of Land and Environment. The Statute, consisting of 23 articles divided into three Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Ministry, entitled to perform the following activities: a) Planning and territorial ordering for the sustainable development of the country; b) Formulation of proposals for the implementation of policies, legislation and strategies for integrated development of land, environment and climate change, conservation areas, forests and wildlife; c) Land administration and management; d) Administration, management and sustainable use of forests and wildlife; e) Administration and management of the national network of conservation areas; f) Promotion of the development of knowledge in the field of land and environment; g) Guarantee, maintenance and development in the area of the environment; h) Definition and implementation of education, awareness and dissemination strategies; i) Intersectoral coordination and sustainable use of available resources for sustainable development.
