Abstract This Methodology establishes the procedure for calculating average prices for food products in retail stores by state statistical bodies. Calculation of average prices for goods is carried out monthly for fruits and vegetables and 4 times a year (for March, June, September, December) for foodstuffs (except fruits and vegetables). The main statistical departments of the regions and the city of Minsk calculate: average prices for goods by basic organizations in the cities selected for selective observation; average prices for goods by city and region. The National Statistical Committee calculates the average prices for goods in the Republic of Belarus. The calculation of average prices for foodstuffs includes the determination of the average price of goods: for the base organization; for a certain territory (city, region, country). If one price is registered in the base organization in the reporting period due to a limited assortment of goods, then the average price of the foodstuffs (except for fruits and vegetables) for the base organization will correspond to the registered price of the representative product. If in the base organization the foodstuffs are represented by a wide range, which allows selecting several representative goods for price registration, then the calculation of the average price of the goods (except for fruits and vegetables) for the base organization is carried out according to the formula set out in this Resolution.
