This Resolution enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Resolution, consisting of 21 articles divided into 9 Chapters and 5 Annexes, establishes criteria and procedures for settlement, management and exploitation of agroforestry systems and the practice of fallow within the State of Rio de Janeiro. The establishment, management and exploitation of agroforestry systems must be authorized by INEA upon specific administrative procedure pursuant to Law No. 12.651 in the following situations: Permanent Preservation Areas located in small rural family properties; rehabilitation and management of legal reserves; areas covered by secondary Atlantic Forest vegetation in the intermediate stage of regeneration in small rural family properties; areas covered by secondary Atlantic Forest vegetation in early stages of regeneration. The Resolution is divided as follows: Settlement, management and exploitation of agroforestry systems in protected and non-protected areas (Chaps. 2 and 3); Transport of Native Forestry Species exploited in Agroforestry Systems (Chap. 4); Agroforestry Systems Settlement Limits for the rehabilitation of Permanent Preservation Areas and Legal Reserves (Chap. 5); Regime of Fallow (Chap. 6); Use of Fires in Agroforestry Systems and areas subject to fallow (Chap. 7); Transitions provisions (Chap. 8); Final provisions (Chap. 9). The deployment and exploitation of agroforestry systems shall not be permitted in areas covered by primary or secondary vegetation in the advanced stage of regeneration of the Atlantic Forest biome.
