Abstract

This Resolution, consisting of 5 articles, establishes criteria for the characterization of sustainable agricultural activities and enterprises undertaken by family farmer, rural family enterprises and traditional population and communities of social interest, aimed at the production, intervention and recovery of Permanent Preservation Areas and other areas of limited use. This Resolution defines exceptional cases of social interest in which the environmental authority can regularize the intervention or suppression of vegetation in the Permanent Preservation Area-APP for consolidated agricultural enterprises of family farmers and rural family entrepreneurs. Activities that are characterized by one or more of the following situations are considered of social interest: maintenance of traditional extensive grazing in areas with vegetative cover of altitude fields, as long as it does not promote the additional suppression of native vegetation or the introduction of exotic plant species; maintenance of crops with woody or perennial fruit species, not subject to seasonal shallows, provided that management practices are used to guarantee the environmental function of the area, in all extensions of slopes higher than 45 degrees, including on top of Hill; activities of sustainable agro-forestry management, as long as they do not modify the plant cover and do not harm the environmental function of the area; and seasonal activities of ebb agriculture, traditionally practiced by family farmers, specifically for the cultivation of temporary crops of short cycle, in the land strip that is exposed in the ebb and flow period of the rivers or lakes, provided they do not imply suppression and conversion of areas with native vegetation, the use of pesticides and cultural practices that affect water quality.
