Abstract This Resolution, composed of 32 articles and two Annexes, regulates final disposal of waste originated from sanitary services, including both animal and human services. In particular, it requires all concerned waste producers to plan and implement a Waste Management Plan for Sanitary Services (PGRSS), in compliance with all relevant legislation in force. The Regulation compels the environmental authorities competent at federal, national and local levels to set criteria defining the services in need for environmental licensing consistently with the PGRSS. Finally, the resolution provides specific requirements for waste disposal aimed at protecting the environment and public health. Annex II provides the minimum criteria required for final sanitary waste disposal.
