Abstract This Resolution approves the Regulation of the Consolidation Programme for the National Pact of Water Management (PROGESTÃO). PROGESTÃO is developed by the National Water Agency (ANA) in support of the State Water Resources Management Systems (SEGREHs) which integrate the National Water Resources Management System (SINGREH). PROGESTÃO aims at: promote the effective articulation between the processes of water management and regulation of its uses; and strengthen the Brazilian integrated, decentralized and participatory model of water governance. The Resolution establishes general guidelines, criteria and operational procedures. The Programme will be developed in five-year cycles. In order to achieve its objectives ANA resources will contribute through payment for the achievement of goals agreed between ANA and the States and Federal District.
