Abstract This Resolution consists of 3 Chapters divided into 26 articles. Chapter I deals with terms and definitions. Chapter II provides for the management and duties of the Technical Consultative Committee as well as for the responsibility of Analysis and Inspection Body. General and final provisions are given in Chapter III. Article 3 establishes the Technical and Consultative Committee for the implementation of this Law. The above-mentioned Committee may establish Subcommittees (art. 4). Article 5 defines the competencies of the Committee which are to: offer consultation to the Minister; control the implementation of this Law; and, coordinate, with other authorities, the control and inspection on food. The Body of the Ministry of Environment shall carry out the control and inspection on food (art. 7). Competencies of the Legal Officer are defined in article 9. Article 10 specifies the steps to be followed in case of confiscation of food. Food or samples that have to be analyzed shall be sent to the Analysis Laboratories within 24 hours (art. 11). The results of the analyses by the accredited laboratories shall be considered valid (art. 15). Offences and penalties are provided for in articles 20-22. The Yemeni Standardization and Metrology standards shall be compulsory (art. 23).
