The guiding principles for all adaptation projects include, among others: Promotion of conflict resolution and peace-building; gender equality and other vulnerable groups to be considered in the design of projects; promotion of livelihood diversification; indigenous knowledge to be included in the design of adaptation projects; and land tenure to be considered when deciding the projects' location.
