Abstract The Act provides for the State policy to ensure a safe and healthful workplace for all working people by affording them full protection against all hazards in the work environment. This Act shall apply to all establishments, projects, sites, including Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) establishments, and all other places where work is being undertaken in all branches of economic activity, exception the public sector. The Act provides for the duties of employers and workers to comply with the regulations of this Act, safety and health programs and facilities, employer's responsibility and liability, payment standard, prohibited acts and employee's compensation claim. The Act consists of 7 Chapters as follow: Declaration of Policy (1); General Provisions (2); Duties and Rights of Employers, Workers and Other Persons (3); Covered Workplaces (4); Joint and Solidary Liability (5); Enforcement of Occupational Safety and Health Standards (6); Miscellaneous Provisions.
