Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force 15 days after its publication.
Abstract

This Act, consisting of 43 sections, regulates the Practice of Forestry in the Philippines and Appropriating Funds therefor. The objectives of this Act are: a) The examination, registration and licensing of professional foresters; b) The supervision, control and regulation of the practice of forestry in the Philippines; c) The development and upgrading of the curriculum; d) The development of the professional competence of foresters through mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD); and e) The integration of the forestry profession. The licensing examination for foresters shall include the following aspects: a) Forest Ecosystem; b) Forest Policy and Governance; c) Forest Engineering and Utilization; and d) Forest Resource Management. It also establishes offences and penalties for illegal forestry activities.
