Abstract The present Regulations provide for the enactment of the Ecological Reserves Act. In particular, the purpose of these regulations is to create representative areas to serve as benchmarks for measuring environmental change in, and the ecological health of, other areas in Saskatchewan by: a) preserving the ecological resources of representative areas; b) preserving the distinctive geological features of representative areas; and c) providing opportunities for scientific research and study related to the ecological health of representative areas.
