Abstract

The present Regulation is made under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Renewable and Low Carbon Fuel Requirements) Act. In particular, under this Regulation fuel suppliers choose their own approach for compliance with Part 3 (Low Carbon Fuel Requirements) of the afore-mentioned Act. Fuel suppliers may choose to: i) Supply more low carbon fuels; ii) Acquire credits through a Part 3 Agreement; iii) Trade credits with other suppliers. The Act consists of 29 sections divided into 6 Parts as follows: Interpretation (1); General requirements (1.1); Requirements in relation to renewable fuels (2); Requirements in Relation to Carbon Intensity of Fuels (2.1); Administrative penalties (3); Appeals (4); Administration and enforcement (5); Transition (6).
