Abstract This Regulatory Decree approves the Statute of the Autonomous Fisheries Fund (FAP). The FAP is an autonomous fund, endowed with administrative and financial autonomy, and works under the governmental department responsible for Fisheries. The FAP's mission is to financially ensure the full development of the fishing sector, guaranteeing the necessary security, increasing production and its value, improving the living conditions of fishing communities, training human resources and increasing jobs within this sector. The FAP may establish cooperative relations with other public and private, national or international entities, when it is necessary or convenient for the pursuit of its mission, and provided that the establishment of such relations does not constitute a situation of conflict of interests.
