Abstract The Centre shall consist of a Plant Protection Department, a Seed Control Department, an Agricultural Chemical Department and an Administration Department. The Plant Protection Department shall carry out measures to combat plant diseases and pests and to prevent the spreading of them. It shall also be involved in the registration of pesticides, assist the Pesticides Board and carry out the control of the quality of plant material. The Agricultural Chemical Department shall be responsible for the control of fertilizers and fodder and analyse and control pesticides and its residues. The Seed Control Department shall lead and develop the supervision over the production of and trade in seeds and other plant breeding material, over natural breeding and quality of plants, and the campaign against wild oats.
