Abstract

These Regulations, made by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries under section 43(1)(j) of the Veterinary and Para-Veterinary Professions Act, 1982, requires compulsory community service to be performed by every person registering for the first time as a veterinarian in terms of the Act. The South African Veterinary Council shall establish a register wherein all persons performing compulsory community service are registered as such. The Regulations also prescribe categories for places where compulsory community service is to be performed.
