Abstract

These Regulations, made by the Minister of Agriculture under section 43 (g) of the Veterinary and Para-Veterinary Professions Act, 1982, require all veterinary professionals registered with the South African Veterinary Council who practise or render professional veterinary services to comply with the system of “continued professional development (CPD)” as a prerequisite to retain registration in terms of the Act. CDP is a continuing education and training of a veterinary professional as prescribed by these Regulations. The Regulations also concern accreditation and monitoring of CPD activities by the Council.
