Abstract

These Regulations of the of Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under section 123(1) of the National Water Act, 1998, concern the construction, maintenance, management, operation and use of dams and the use of waters in connection with the safety of dams, especially the impounding of water for storage in reservoirs where a safety risk exists. The Regulations also concern authorization of impounding of water and the decommissioning of dams and the prevention of related adverse impact on resource quality or significant detrimental effect on the environment.
