Subject Mineral resources Keyword Exploration Minerals Mining Royalties/fees Authorization/permit Geographical area Asia, Asia and the Pacific, Indian Ocean, South Asian Seas, Southern Asia Abstract The Mining (Licensing) Regulations No. 1 of 1993 published in Gazette Extraordinary No. 794/23 of November 26, 1993, are hereby further amended as follows: the substitution of regulation 10: Special negotiations in the form of an Investment Agreement may be conducted by the Secretary with any private sector proponent or participant with regard to the terms and conditions of and the supplementary rights and obligations under such agreement, before obtaining a licence for mining, trading in or export of: ilimanite, Zircon, rutile, graphite, mica, quartz, garnet and apatite, being industrial minerals; iron, nickel, chromium, copper, lead and zinc, being base metal; and gold, silver and platinum, being precious metals; and exported dimension stone; and by the addition immediately after the sub-paragraph of the following sub-paragraph: specify, increase or deduct royalty; in regulations 33, by the substitution of paragraph 4 related to administative procedures as follows: the Secretary may determine the market value of mine out put, percentage of royalty and permissible deductions or increases and royalty payment arrangement within the framework of the Investment Agreement.
