Abstract

These Regulations, made by the Minister of Health under section 15 of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972, prohibit the handling of food or permit food to be handled: (a) on food premises in respect of which a valid certificate of acceptability (CoA) has not been issued or is not in force; (b) in contravention of any restriction or condition or stipulation contained in such certificate of acceptability. No person shall handle food in a manner contrary to the provisions of these Regulations or shall handle food elsewhere than on food premises that meet the requirements of this Regulations. The Regulations set out standards for food hygiene handling and transport. They particularly apply to meat, fish and other perishable food.
