Abstract

To import hatching eggs into Malaysia, an import licence to be issued by the Department of Veterinary Services is required. Moreover, the consignments shall be accompanied by a veterinary health certificate dated within thirty days of import and containing the information referred to in Regulation 2. Upon arrival in Malaysia, the consignments shall be subjected to veterinary inspections at the port of disembarkation or point of entry (Regulation 5). The Department of Veterinary Services is hereby empowered to reject, destroy or further detain any consignment of hatching eggs, if it deems it necessary.
