Abstract

These Regulations, in implementation of Section 8 of Animal Rules 1962, deal with the importation from Thailand into Malaysia of sheep or goats for breeding purposes. The import licence referred to in regulation 1 is required. Furthermore, the consignment of the animals shall be accompanied by a certificate containing a full description or identification of the animals and a veterinary health certificate certifying that, inter alia: (a) the animals originate from foot and mouth disease free zones; (b) the animals have been vaccinated; (c) the animals are free from any infectious or contagious disease at the time of export. Further provisions concern transport (regulation 4), quarantine (regulation 5) and landing places in Malaysia (regulation 9).
