Abstract

These Regulations have been enacted in accordance with section 8 of the Animals Rules 1962. They regulate the importation of cattle for fattening or slaughter purposes from Australia into the Malaysian territory. Such imports shall be subject to the issuance of a written permission by the Director-General of Department Veterinary Service or Director of State Veterinary Service, to be obtained prior to departure of the animals from the country of export. The consignment of animals shall be accompanied by a veterinary health certificate containing the details required under regulation 2. Regulation 3 refers to transportation and landing place. At the point of entry into Malaysia, the animals shall be subject to veterinary inspection as per regulation 4. In case of outbreak of any disease or contravention of the present import regulations, the import approval may be revoked and the animals returned to the country of origin.
