Abstract

To import cattle and buffalos from China into Malaysia, Regulation 1 requires the previous written approval as well as the issuance of an import licence prior to the departure of the animals from the country of export. Further conditions are hereby established, covering the issuance of a veterinary health certificate, intended to guarantee the wholesomeness of animals. Regulation 3 regards transport and landing places. Further provisions deal with quarantine measures and slaughter (Regulations 3 and 4 respectively). Regulation 8 specifies the measures to be undertaken in case of disease outbreak.
