The Regulations provide for the requirements for labeling and packaging of genetically modified plants. A unique identification number shall be issued and registered by the competent authority after a genetically modified strain has passed field testing and before domestic extension or sales. The unique identification number is used for product identification and source tracing. An applicant for a unique identification number may be either the plant breeder or the person authorized by the breeder (art.2).
