Abstract

These Regulations amend Schedule I of the Food (Colouring Substances) Regulations, 2006. Amendments deal with standard of the Synthetic dyes that are permitted to be used as colouring substances in food as follows: Pure dye minimum 85%; Water insoluble matter maximum 0.1%; Subsidiary dye maximum 4%; Ether extractable matter 0.2%; Intermediates maximum 0.5%. Table II specifies "Other Colouring substances permitted to be used".
