Abstract

The present Regulation lays down provisions relating to the quality of drinking water. Section 5 establishes that water supplied by a distribution system must have undergone a continuous filtration and disinfection treatment if it comes in whole or in part from surface water or from groundwater whose microbiological quality is likely to be altered by surface water because of the non-permeability of collection or storage facilities. The text consists of 55 sections divided into 7 Parts as follows: General (I); Filtration and disinfection (II); Quality control of drinking water (III); Non-compliance of water with the standards of quality (IV); Competence required (V); Penal (VI); Miscellaneous and final (VII). Three Schedules are enclosed.
