Abstract

The present Regulation lays down provisions relating to the landfilling and incineration of residual materials. Its particular purpose is to prescribe which residual materials may be accepted at certain facilities, the conditions subject to which the facilities are to be sited and operated and the conditions that apply to their closure and post-closure management. The text consists of 187 sections divided into 8 Parts as follows: Definitions, scope of application and purpose (I); Landfills (II); Residual materials transfer stations (IV); Financial guarantee (V); Certificate of authorization (VI); Offences (VII); Transitional, amending and miscellaneous (VIII). Two Schedules are enclosed.
