The main purpose of issuing the import permit is to regulate the entry of plant and plant product for preventing the entry and spread of pests and diseases brought together by the materials imported. Applications to be made on forms as specified. Completed forms have to be submitted at least a month prior to date of import. A copy of the Import Permit has to be submitted to the exporting country for treatment and quarantine purposes. Full text English
