It also applies when processing fish, in the circumstances specified by the Regulation. Food from animals undergone these treatments may not be used for food purposes or placed on the market during the withdrawal periods. Specific rules regarding withdrawal periods for different substances are included in the Regulation. The Annex lists vitamin and mineral preparations, physiological saline solutions, carbohydrates etc. which can be used for all food producing animals without withdrawal periods.
