Abstract

This Regulation determines the classification of different types of food and sets the related manner for correct performance of official control. This text further provides for the List of mixed foods and sets the manner of performing control over such food. Types of food are: 1) food of animal origin; 2) food of plant origin; 3) mixed food containing ingredients of plant and animal origin; 4) animal feed (which is further classified under four different groups as follows: 1. animal feed of plant origin; 2. compound feedingstuffs, including medicated feedingstuffs, feedingstuffs containing ingredients of animal origin and additives; 3. animal feed of animal origin; 4. animal feed of neither plant nor animal origin). In order to achieve a high level of protection of human life and health, and depending on the type of food, food control, in accordance with regulations governing food safety and control, is performed as specified in article 3.
