Abstract

This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Law on seeds and seedlings of agricultural plants, determines the quantities and manner of storage and maintenance of reference sample, the manner of operation of plant gene bank, as well as amount of fees according to specific conditions of storage and maintenance of reference sample of certain types of agricultural plant. A reference sample of the variety and indigenous variety of seed and planting material registered in the national variety list shall be kept and maintained in a gene bank; quantities-storage of reference samples are different depending on the type of seed and planting material (see Annex). The Gene Bank operates in accordance with the gene standards for plants for plant genetic resources for food and agriculture prescribed by the World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
