Abstract This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of eight articles and two Annexes, lays down detailed requirements for the production and labeling of hatching eggs and day old chicks. Labeling of the hatching eggs and packages of day-old chicks should be approved by the Veterinary Administration of the Slovenian Republic. Hatcheries must report monthly to the Agency for Agricultural Markets and Rural Development on number of hatching eggs and hatched chicks. The form of this report is specified in Annex 1. Monitoring of the implementation of these provisions is carried out by the Veterinary Administration and the Inspectorate for Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing.
