Abstract

The present Regulation establishes the grounds for compulsory and voluntary certification of produce, processes and services. Certification shall be carried out for the purpose of prevention of the manufacturing and trade of produce harmful to human life, human health and environment. The National Certification System shall have as its purpose the acknowledgement abroad of the national certificates and compliance marks. The National Authorized Certification Body shall establish the principles of the functioning and the structure of certification, the application of the certification requirements and standards, the coordination between various certification systems and shall be in charge of keeping the State Register of the National Certification System. The Cabinet of Ministers validates the list of produce subject to compulsory certification and shall annually revise it. The compulsory certification shall be applicable to foodstuffs, including meat, fish products, mil and dairy products, infant food, beverages, tobaccos and liquors.
