Abstract

This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Serbian Law on the recognition of plant varieties, here prescribes the methods of testing for plant variety Camelina sativa (L) Crantz. (cultivar crop-oilseed crop) in the experimental field and in laboratories, for the purpose of exact variety recognition. These methods are aimed for examining certain essential characteristics of the variety, in order to determine: 1) production and use values of the variety (VCU test); 2) variety, uniformity and stability of the variety (DUS test). Production and use values of the variety (VCU test) are determined based on the results of testing certain essential characteristics of the variety that relate to: 1) grain yield (with 9% moisture); 2) moisture content in the grain; 3) grain oil content; 4) oil yield; 5) erucic acid content in the grain; 6) glucosinolate content; 7) protein content; 8) tolerance, ie resistance to diseases and pests. The variety shall be tested by comparing such essential characteristics with the essential characteristics of one or more standard varieties.
