This Regulation enters into force on 31 December 1997.
Abstract

According to this Regulation, all animals older than two months are to be earmarked and registered. The Regulation contains detailed requirements on the nature of earmarking methods. It deals also with control on production and emission of earmarks. The text is followed by designs to be used for earmarks.
