The Regulation enters into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal.
Abstract

This Regulation sets forth the rules and procedures governing the placing on the market and the storage of plant protection products. Individuals and companies must obtain a special authorization in order to carry out such activities. The Regulation also specifies the requirements to be met by public companies, producers’ organizations, farmers’ organizations and agricultural chambers in order to place on the market and store plant protection products. Further provisions deal with the conditions to be fulfilled by locations for retail and wholesale as well as storage facilities for plant protection products. All licences granted prior to the entry into force of this Regulation will be valid until 1 January 2009.
