Abstract

This Regulation, based on the provisions of the national Law on packaging management and packaging waste, prescribes the manner of numbering and indicates the adopted abbreviations which are basis of the system for identification and marking of materials from which packaging is produced or made. This text further sets the form and content of related packaging labels or marks that are also important as they indicate the necessary packaging waste handling procedure. The identification system consists of signs/abbreviations for marking of materials from which the packaging is made, as follows: for plastic materials given in Annex 1; for paper and cardboard given in Annex 2; for metal given in Annex 3; for wood materials given in Annex 4; for textile materials given in Annex 5; for glass given in Annex 6; for composite materials given in Annex 7. The form and content of the packaging waste handling procedure marks is provided in Annex 8.
