Abstract

This Regulation defines the legal and organizational basis for the activities of the Kyrgyz Geological Service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Service is a state executive body of the Kyrgyz Republic, functioning as a subordinate unit of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, implementing state policy in the field of geology and subsoil use. The objectives of the Service are: (a) implementation of state policy in the field of geology and subsoil use; and (b) ensuring rational use of the subsoil of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Service performs the following tasks: (a) systematic comprehensive geological study (exploration) of the subsoil; (b) state regulation of subsoil use issues and improving the management system of the state subsoil fund; (c) protection of subsoil during geological exploration and development of mineral deposits; (d) implementation of a unified technical policy in the development of topographic, geodetic and cartographic works, the introduction of the latest achievements of science and technology and best practices in the production of cartographic, topographic and geodetic works in the established field of activity; and (e) creating favorable conditions for the development of the mining industry.
