Abstract This Regulation, at the proposal of the Professional Council of the Republic of Slovenia for vocational and professional education, adopted at the 95th session on 18 December 2006, the Minister of Education and Sports accepts the post-secondary study program denominated as “Food and Nutrition” to obtain the title of professional education engineer in food and nutrition. This study program shall be published by the Ministry of Education and Sports in a special publication or on an electronic medium and begins to be implemented at the beginning of the academic year 2007/2008. The fundamental goal of the study program (here attached the 2022/2023 program) is to train an expert who is capable of a broad understanding of the fields of food and nutrition with an emphasis on knowledge and skills related to food, i.e. production, processing, quality and marketing of food and nutrition as a natural continuation of food, for proper, safe and healthy nutrition or normal development and maintenance of human health. The graduate is qualified to plan, organize, manage and control the production of food and human nutrition as well as some accompanying activities, taking into account natural science, social science and environmental principles in the production of safe food and the implementation of safe and healthy human nutrition.
