Abstract

These Regulations govern the procedures of drafting, filing and examination at the Patent Office of applications for the registration of marks and geographical indications that must be filed with the Patent Office. An application must be filed in one copy, using the respective standard form of the Patent Office. An application for the registration of marks must contain: (a) request for registration; (b) data identifying the applicant; (c) data identifying the representative, if any; (d) correspondence address, if any; (e) claim of priority, if any; (f) an indication to the effect that the mark is a three-dimensional or sound mark; (g) claim of colour, if any; (h) representation of the mark; (i) list of goods and/or services and their classes under the International Classification; and (j) signature. An application for the registration of a geographical indication must contain: (a) the registration and/or user entry request form; (b) data identifying the applicant and/or the user; (c) data identifying the representative, if any; (d) the correspondence address, if any; (e) the appellation of origin or the indication of source; (f) the designation of the goods; (g) the designation of the borders of the geographical locality; (h) a description of the goods; (i) data on the registration of the geographical indication in the country of origin and (j) a signature.
