This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for the provisions of the article 31 that shall enter into force on 1 January 2012.
Abstract

This Regulation hereby provides for various technical issues related to the animal welfare principles such as: general terms defining the animal killing conditions; necessary treatments immediately before the slaughtering; stunning and bleeding; stunning rules; and other specific conditions that authorize the slaughtering without prior stunning; and training program issues about the welfare of animals during slaughtering.
