Abstract

This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food establishes provisions governing collection, transport, storage, handling, use and disposal of carcasses of dead and killed animals as the type of animal by-products not intended for human consumption, with a view to determine their safe use and disposal, and prevent posing a risk to human or animal. Carcasses of animals must be disposed from the place of death, killing or collecting within 36 hours, exceptionally within 48 hours of the notification of death, and in summer within 24 hours, exceptionally within 36 hours. Removal of carcasses from roads and settlements should take priority as soon as possible after the notification of death. Holders of dead animals have to repay part of the cost of collection and disposal of animal carcasses. This Regulation is composed of the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); Collection, transport and harmless disposal (Sec. 2); Costs (Sec. 3); Transitional and final provisions (Sec. 4).
